1864 Civil War Photo Restoration

Had a little fun this week restoring an old photo. Here is the story behind the young man in the picture;

"The photograph is of my great grandfather, Pvt. James McConnell, USMC, in full dress uniform. The photograph was taken during, or shortly, after the Civil War. James served as part of the 12-man Marine detachment aboard USS Winooski, a steam-powered gunboat. James was born in Donegal, Ireland and after the war lived the rest of his life in Lambertville, NJ."
